Thanks, iBraryGuy, for this terrific post. As you say, I am not a librarian, and like anyone who is not a professional in a given area, I am not able to speak in detail about the nuances of your world. I do, however, deal regularly with clients, the ones who pay the bills that allow the firms to hire lawyers who consume the services of law firm librarians. Those clients are the ultimate arbiters of value, not me and not the providers of service, whether the provider be lawyer or libararian.

I have been amazed that people are seem to ignore the gist of my post--that Information Professionals have an opportunity to expand their roles and become even more critical to the enterprise in offering value to their clients. That is a position I think most people would like to find themselves.

It is revolutionary!

I am not sure that they have applied the upcoming 'cloud computing' like was speculated where all the device does is connect to the Internet (wirelessly) and then loads the OS and apps.

Rumor has it that Google is planning to introduce a Cloud based netbook (or maybe a iPad like device?) for about $200 later in the year.

I still have not had a great opportunity to try this out. The big tech sites make it sound like it should be doable. Yet, I have read many personal blog reviews that say just the opposite. From what I have read, Sony's reader still handles ePUB the best. Kindle is at the low end of the spectrum, as Amazon is resisting the ePUB standardization. I definitely have to sit down and try this for myself! Truth be told, I have so many free books on it already that I have not been looking much outside the B&N store. I will definitely repost when I check this out!

I was hoping to see some info about reading library books on the Nook. Can you put a number of ePUB or Adobe PDF formatted books on the reader and access them successfully?
